A number of our members also have allotments in Dagnall & are members of the Dagnall Gardeners Society. The Society runs a shop on the Allotment site & is well worth a visit to pick up gardening sundries, compost, fertilisers, etc., all at a good price. You will need to join the Society to make any purchases, but that’s only £3!
The Allotment shop is open Sundays 10am-12 noon mid-February to end of November and can be found in Dagnall on the main Leighton Buzzard to Hemel road, Main Road South, A4146, next to Munns farm shop.
Here’s a taster of what you can find in the shop:
- Fertilisers from £1 sized bags to 25kg sacks;
- Kings Seeds 40% off the packet prices;
- Multi-purpose Compost and J.I. No's 1, 2 & 3, Irish Peat, and special mixed compost;
- Seed potatoes, (order list available Sep/Oct) Onion Sets, and Shallots and Garlic;
- Fleece, ground cover, Enviromesh, Aphid net and all kinds of netting;
- Plus the most important thing - free advice!
And when I popped down there they also had a table of plants & vegetable seedlings, at bargain basement prices – I ended up buying some Orlaya, which is very pretty.
