Lindengate, the start-up Wendover charity, has just acquired the old allotment site, next to World’s End Garden Centre, Wendover, Buckinghamshire & needs your help to turn the site into a tranquil market gardening venture, by mid-September 2014, yes 2014!

Lindengate will be offering therapeutic gardening activities, helping those dealing with mental health issues & will be based at the old allotment site.

The first major activity is to clear the site, which will involve cutting back & digging up weeds, clearing rubbish, moving anything useful including the sheds and greenhouses, potting up plants and general tidying and Lindengate needs your help to meet their target opening date of mid-September 2014.

A number of Volunteer days are scheduled for July & it would be great to see the local community supporting Lindengate – gather your friends for some fresh air and outdoor activity and come along to the Worlds End Allotment site, Aylesbury Road, Wendover, HP22 6BD, on one of the following dates (you’re welcome to come more than once if you can!)

            Monday 7th July 2014            6pm – 8pm

            Saturday 12th July 2014         2pm – 5pm

            Wednesday 16th July 2014     6pm – 8pm

Some gardening equipment is available, but it would be great if you could bring your own digging fork and/or hand fork, digging spade, wheelbarrow, gardening gloves and wear suitable footwear & long trousers (lots of nettles).

Food & refreshments will be provided on all the sessions, with food available for the last hour of the session. So we need people to help with this also. You don’t have to have green fingers to be a part of the Lindengate volunteering team.

In the event of bad weather, the sessions may need to be rescheduled – so, please check the Lindengate Facebook and website pages for any updates.

If you are unable to make any of the dates but would like to get involved please contact Diane on 07930 337253 or volunteer@lindengate.org.uk
